How to Read Processing Times
Processing times shown are estimated ranges based on the most recently published USCIS data and AIIA FOIA analysis. The lower bound represents approximately the 25th percentile of case completion times, while the upper bound represents approximately the 75th percentile. Individual cases may fall outside these ranges depending on complexity, requests for evidence (RFEs), and service center workload.
Factors Affecting Processing Time
TEA category: Rural projects currently receive priority processing from USCIS, which explains the shorter range for rural petitions.
Country of chargeability: Some countries (notably China) face additional delays due to visa availability limits separate from adjudication speed.
Case complexity: Source of funds documentation, business plan quality, and prior immigration history can all affect how quickly USCIS adjudicates a petition.
USCIS staffing: Service center capacity varies over time, and workload shifts can impact processing speeds across all categories.
