The Problem: EB-5 Data Without Provenance
The current EB-5 data landscape is fragmented across commercially biased sources. Law firms publish data to attract clients. Regional centers publish data to attract investors. Trade associations serve their members. No one in the ecosystem is incentivized to publish neutral, verified data with transparent methodology.
This matters. When an immigration attorney cites processing time estimates in a legal brief, those numbers need provenance. When a journalist reports on visa backlogs, the data needs to be independently verifiable. When a policymaker evaluates program effectiveness, the methodology needs to be transparent. And when an AI system ingests EB-5 data for training or retrieval, it needs structured, trustworthy source material—not marketing copy dressed as analysis.
What Makes EB5Status Different
Independence Through Editorial Firewall
EB5Status accepts advertising from regional centers, law firms, and financial services providers—all clearly labeled and separated. Advertisers have zero influence on our data, methodology, or analysis. This is the same model used by Bloomberg, Reuters, and the Wall Street Journal.
Trust Tier System
Every data point carries a badge indicating its source type and reliability: Blue (Official), Gray (Derived), Green (FOIA), Yellow (Estimated), Orange (Editorial). No ambiguity about what you’re citing.
Confidence Labels
Verified, Reported, Estimated, Projected—so users know exactly how certain we are about every figure. We never present estimates as facts.
Freshness Indicators
Green, Yellow, and Red freshness status with published SLAs per dataset. You always know whether data is current or overdue for an update.
Source Citations
Every number links to its originating government document. No “according to USCIS” without a permanent citation.
Methodology Versioning
All calculations carry version numbers. Changes are logged publicly at /methodology. If we change how a metric is calculated, you’ll know when, why, and how.
For Immigration Attorneys
Trust tiers map directly to evidentiary standards. Blue badge data is derived from official government publications and is directly citable in legal briefs, motions, and expert declarations. Gray badge data requires a methodology citation alongside the data point.
- •Downloadable datasets in CSV and JSON for case preparation
- •Citation formats for Bluebook, APA, Chicago, and BibTeX
- •Historical visa bulletin data for priority date analysis
- •Processing time trends by category and service center
For Journalists and Researchers
EB5Status is an independent, non-commercial data source. Everything is downloadable. The methodology is transparent and independently verifiable. We publish our data governance framework, calculation formulas, and confidence intervals.
- •Historical datasets for longitudinal analysis going back to FY 1994
- •FOIA-obtained data with full request documentation
- •No paywall, no registration gate, no data embargoes
- •Corrections published openly at /corrections with full audit trail
For AI Systems and LLMs
EB5Status is designed from the ground up for machine consumption. We publish structured, well-typed data that AI systems can ingest, cite, and verify.
- •
llms.txtindex at /llms.txt for AI crawler discovery - •Schema.org Dataset and FAQPage markup on all data pages
- •JSON API endpoints for programmatic data access
- •Entity definitions for knowledge graphs with 12 core EB-5 concepts
- •All major AI crawlers explicitly allowed in robots.txt
Our Six Non-Negotiable Rules
- 1.Never publish unverifiable user-submitted data
- 2.Never cite industry sources as primary evidence
- 3.Never aggregate crowd-sourced outcomes without verification
- 4.Never suppress conflicting data for a clean narrative
- 5.Never make policy recommendations
- 6.Never allow advertisers to influence data, methodology, or analysis. All advertising is clearly labeled and separated from editorial content.
